Folklore | Travel | Food | Sweet Moments of life
Hey there!
I’m Paola, an illustrator specialising in editorial and publishing illustration, as well as creating my own illustrated calendars and art prints.
I studied 2D Animation at university, and since then, I’ve explored a wide range of digital and traditional art forms, always experimenting, learning, and trying out new things.
My journey with art started early, roaming around my mom as she crafted and created, which sparked my love for working with different media.
I began by experimenting with analogue techniques, and while now I lean more into digital illustration, the skills I developed along the way still shape my work. I love blending the two approaches when a project calls for it.
Much of my work is inspired by the subjects that feel closest to home for me: nature, travel, cosy everyday moments, folklore and astrology. These themes allow me to create illustrations that are rich in atmosphere and storytelling, and being able to bring people into magical worlds or spaces of comfort and whimsy.
Through editorial and publishing collaborations, as well as my own self-initiated projects, I’m passionate about exploring how illustration can capture a sense of place, mood, and meaning. Whether it’s a travel-inspired scene, a seasonal calendar, or a piece rooted in folklore, my goal is always to create art that feels vibrant, warm, and full of character.
